Local Internet Marketing and Small Business Consulting became a passion of mine. Then by chance I met the head of our local merchant group at a Chamber Civic Organization Meeting and we started talking about how local companies are not up to speed on New Media let alone implement to greatly increase their ROI across their marketing efforts.

To start the list building process one of the first things you should do is is sign up with an auto-responder service.  If you haven’t heard of this before it is exactly like it sounds. You set up a bunch of responses that will be sent automatically to your prospect.  The auto responder company collects the names and email addresses for you in the form of a list.  You can then use this list to market directly to. One additional feature an auto responder is that it allows those on your e-mail list to ‘opt-out’ if they don’t want to receive email from you anymore. This is just as important because you protect yourself from possible spam complaints.
